Von Biggs is a passionate advocate, writer, health educator, and public speaker based in Broward County, Florida, with a strong focus on advancing health equity for LGBTQ+ communities and individuals affected by HIV. As a presenter and guest speaker for Poverello, Von brings a wealth of experience and insight to conversations around men’s health, HIV prevention and care, and STI awareness.
He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Broward County HIV Health Services Planning Council and is actively involved in several key organizations, including the South Florida AIDS Network (SFAN), Florida HIV/AIDS Advocacy Network (FHAAN), and the National HIV and Aging Advocacy Network (NHAAN). Von is also a proud member of the NMAC 50+ Strong and Healthy Cohort, contributing to national efforts to address aging with HIV.
Von is the Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator for Holy Cross Health, where he leads initiatives to connect underserved populations with vital health resources. He also serves as a health educator at local colleges, engaging students in meaningful dialogue around sexual health, HIV/STI prevention, and wellness. Von combines academic knowledge with real-world experience to inform and inspire his audiences.
In addition to his community work, Von is a news anchor on Queer News Tonight, where he reports on LGBTQ+ health-related issues, helping to elevate awareness and visibility through media. He is also a founding board member of TransEd and a board member of Harmony Waves, further demonstrating his commitment to inclusive health education and community empowerment.
Whether speaking at local forums or national conferences, Von Biggs continues to be a powerful voice in the movement to end the HIV epidemic and promote holistic wellness for all.
