On August 20th, 2019 10% of the Lucky’s Market’s net sales from their three Fort Lauderdale locations will be donated to support Poverello programming.

 

One day each quarter, 10% of that day’s sales are donated to a local nonprofit who is making change within one of our four areas of focus. This day is a chance for our community to come together and rally their support by shopping our store to make an impact towards Healthy Communities, Youth & Education, Resilience, or Sustainability.

Donation Purpose – Here’s what you are supporting:

 

The Poverello Eat Well Center

Mission: Our Fuel Pack programs help youth to have healthy food items on the days that they don’t have school or community programs helping with their nutritional and educational needs.

 

Donation Purpose: Poverello Eat Well Fuel Bag Packs, will support the good health of 50 students at the Thurgood Marshall Elementary School in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This averages out to provide 50 children with 1 weekends’ worth of groceries for 20 weeks, at a cost of only $16 per Fuel Pack. Sadly, about 7 percent of children in Broward County are food insecure, meaning 81,650 children go to bed hungry. This program will help put a dent in making sure our next generation of Broward Kids can grow up without experiencing weekend hunger!
