Leonie Wims L. Ac. is a physician of Oriental Medicine who is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She is licensed to practice acupuncture, herbal therapy, and injection therapy in the state of Florida.

Leonie began her career in the medical field in 2006 as a home health aide. In 2007 she became a Certified Nurse’s Assistant with a specialty in dementia and Alzheimer’s. She graduated from Broward College with an Associate in Arts degree, then decided to further her studies in non-traditional medicine. She attended the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine and received a Bachelor of Health Science degree and a Master of Oriental Medicine. While there, she requested internship in the Veteran’s Clinic and gained experience treating PTSD, anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, pain management, and musculoskeletal disorders. She continued her internship working extensively with Dr. Di Fu and Dr. Zarik P. Vardanyan of Primary Care Holistic Centre, and furthered her knowledge of internal medicine, herbal therapy, and injection therapy.

Leonie Wims began working as a volunteer acupuncturist at the Povorello Live Well Centre in January 2018. While there she continues her passion for healing, education, and serving her community.

Leonie continues her love for internal medicine. She combines treatment using, acupuncture, cupping, electro-acupuncture, herbal therapy, auricular therapy, and injection therapy to help and educate her patients.
