Cashier / Customer Services – Pompano Beach Location
SUMMARY: The Thrift Store Cashier is responsible to handle cash transactions with customers, as well as support the day to day operations of the entire thrift store. She/he is responsible for all transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures; she/he will play a fundamental role in achieving our customer satisfaction and revenue growth objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Core duties and responsibilities include the following.
- Handle cash transactions with customers.
- Issue receipts, refunds, exchange or tickets.
- Redeem vouchers and coupons.
- Make sales referrals, cross-sell products and introduce new ones.
- Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information.
- Greet customers when entering or leaving establishments.
- Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas.
- Keep reports of transactions.
- Bag, box or wrap packages.
- Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Assists in the over site of store advertising.
- Establishes pricing on the spot if merchandise is not already priced.
- Training new staff.
- Keep maintenance area clean, orderly and clear of hazards.
- Inform Lead Shift immediately of any situation beyond his/her ability or authority.
- Inspect materials and sort items or materials into designated areas according to type, size, condition, color.
- Sorting, folding, counting and weighing shelf linen; loading linen carts for delivery to the store.
- Ability to work from standing, sitting, kneeling or stooping positions.
- Ability to work independently without supervision as well as work effectively as a member of a team.
- Manage time well and maintain a positive working relationship with staff, volunteers and/or donors.
